Grieving
OK…this is probably the only non-political post that will ever appear here.
Today we lost a dear pet. Her name was Xena, she was an Eclectus parrot. Those folks who have lost pets know the heartache that is felt when you loose an animal that has lived its life out of its natural habitat…these animals bond to their humans just the same as they bond with their flock, or their pack. Those who have had their life shared with a parrot know just how much these animals are alot like us.
Parrots are amazing birds. They are large, loud, boisterous…and unbelievably intelligent. Xena would hear my motorcycle coming blocks away, before my wife could hear it, and would start getting excited about seeing me walk through the door from work..
You see…parrots bond to a particular flock member. She chose me to be that one that she wanted to be with above all others. When I cam home, if I didn’t stop at her perch and pick her up immediately, she would calmly watch me walk down the hall to my room to change out of my work clothes, wait about 30 seconds or so, then fly halfway down the hall (we kept her clipped so that she wouldn’t hurt herself flying around the house) land on the floor, then simply walk into the bedroom, stand in the doorway, look up at me and say hello.
She would happily sit on my shoulder, just content to be sitting with her favorite person while I was doing whatever it was at the time, intently studying and watching, but above all, simply being together.
Its hard to have to make the decision that you dread…she didn’t just die. She suffered a stroke…within a few hours her right side was paralyzed, a few more and she began to loose motor function, and we had to make the horrible decision at the vets to put her to sleep. She died in my arms.
Our family lost a loved member…the house seems that much emptier now. We miss her already.
I’ve never been emotional about death…its a part of life, and living. Until today, when it simply devastated me. I guess what really hits home is the unconditional bond of trust and, if an animal can actually feel it, love. I can’t help but feel that she trusted me to provide for her, and in the end there was nothing that I could do but to put her to sleep. I can’t help but feel that I betrayed that trust in me, and it hurts.
Its gonna hurt for a long time.

Memorial Day Weekend
OK…this week-end, I’m officially declaring it my no-rant weekend.
While the ObaMessiah sends his second-fiddle to the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier tomorrow so that he, as President, can take a vacation because he’s entitled to it, those Americans who love their country will be remembering the men and women who paid the ultimate price for this great nation.
Lets also not forget those who returned home alive, who experienced the horrors of war, who buried those horrors deep in their minds and locked them away, and who went back to their lives, such as their lives were after witnessing hell on earth.
Lets not forget those who had to live with, and suffer from, the memory of war.
Memorial Day is for honoring those who paid with their lives. Veterans, whether returning alive or not, all paid with their lives. Those killed in action, and those who must carry the horrors alone in their memories every day.
Take the time to thank a Vet this weekend.

“I don’t spend a lot of time worrying about what the procedural rules are in the House or Senate”
Thats right boys and girls!
The Magic Marxist, the ObaMessiah, the Socialist Scumbucket, the great OBambi…WHO WAS HELD UP BY THE WEEPING AND ORGASMIC SYCOPHANTS AND DRONES AS A CONSTITUTIONAL SCHOLAR has gone on-record as saying (and this is a direct quote…)
“I don’t spend a lot of time worrying about what the procedural rules are in the House or Senate”
Thats right! Lets just toss out that pesky Constitution, or better yet just use it to wipe your ass with, because the procedures set forth in our founding documents means absolutely jack-diddly-fuck!
Of course he isn’t worrying about the *procedures* that must be followed…he’s a Socialist Yambag. He’s got a majority in the House and Senate. He says, they do. He wants a hummer, and Pelosi, Reid, and all the other wanna-be’s line up on their knees to see who can give him the best one, and thus earn his favor for a day or so.
The idiots in this once-great nation voted for this fuckwad, and now we’re stuck with him. And these same folks were saying last November, “Well, if he doesn’t work out, he’ll be a one-termer. How bad could a shot at Hopey-Changey really be? Its only 4 years!”
He’s on the verge of destroying this country in under 15 MONTHS! FIFTEEN FUCKING MONTHS!
I can’t believe that I’ve had to witness this country being dismantled from within like this.

Deem and Pass
Yes folks…your fanatical Socialist Liberal Goobermint Congressleeches (ie: anyone who has a D beside their name in the Federal Legislature) is preparing to hit the Nuclear button, and pass a bil without having *actually* passed the bill.
The Democraps claims that *Its been done before and Republicans have used it* is pure bullshit. Its NEVER been done at this stage of the process, and even further, its never been done in such a manner that the House says *Here are the changes we want, so we’ll vote on these changes. If our changes pass in the House, then we’ll ASSUME that the original bill is passed with our desired changes.*
It doesn’t work that way folks.
A congressleech actually is on record (I can’t recall his name and I’m so fucking livid right now I don’t WANT to know his name…) as saying *Well, it passed the Senate with a majority. As far as I’m concerned, its passed.*
Huh? When did we suddenly become a uni-cameral goobermint? We have a Constitution that states, unequivocally, that we have an upper and lower chamber (hence, we are a bi-cameral legislature) where any bill introduced MUST BE PASSED BY BOTH HOUSES TO BECOME LAW.
It passed the Senate. It now MUST be passed as is in the House, with a full vote, recorded in the Congressional Ledger.
It CAN’T be passed as a rider to a set of changes that the House wants. If the House wants changes, they need to do the process all over again…draft a new bill, approve it, send it to the Senate to approve it. If the Senate does again what they did last time and sends it back with changes, those changes need to be worked out, then the thing gets voted on again, and again, and again until an agreement is reached.
What these fucking douchebag Liberal Marxist Scumbuckets are doing is saying *Screw the Constitution, Screw the American People, we know whats good for them, we’re gonna ram this up their asses with no lube, and they’ll like it or else we’ll impose fines on them *until* they like it.*
When did we suddenly become a dictatorship?
When did we suddenly lower ourselves to the status of Banana Republic?
When did we we decide that the greatest document ever written by mankind to form a government BY THE POEPLE, OF THE PEOPLE, and FOR THE PEOPLE was just a piece of paper to wipe your ass with and so fucking what, our Masters in the Congress have decided that they know what is good for us, and we as the peasants need to behave ourselves and pretend we like this shit, and if they determine that they want blowjobs we have to fight to be at the front of the line because they are so fucking magnificent and so fucking awesome that we have to do what they say, when they say, in the manner they say, because THEY ARE BETTER THAN US?
They are playing with fire, folks. They are going to point us down a path to another Civil War…they will usher in the era of Secession…they will drive the final nails in t he coffin of this once great Nation, and all we’ll be able to do is tell our grandkids of how great is was to live in the former United States.
Call your reps. Let them know that this won’t fly. We have a Constitution, which is the contract between the people and its Government.
It must be honored and preserved.

Cornell University Suicides
OK…this article about Cornell Suicides caught my eye this morning, because I was curious to see how the suicides were being carried out. We all know that ZOMG GUNS! are to blame for everything from teen suicides to global warming and everything in between, so I really wanted to see which guns were used.
Boy, was I surprised! Seems that Cornell University is built atop a plateau of sorts, and the main campus is surrounded by rocky gorges, some of which are over 100 feet deep. Students use a series of bridges to get to the main campus, and these bridges are known for their suicide potential as despondent kids jump off them without bungee cords.
The suicides at Cornell have earned it the nickname of The Suicide University. But what really struck me was this numbnut who tried to play down that moniker by stating the following:
Cornell officials insist the school’s suicide rate is in line with the national average of 1.5 per year at universities. Timothy Marchell, director of mental health initiatives, blamed the gorges for the bad reputation.
Wow! This is telling me that *Hey…our suicide rate is no different than the National Average of College suicides* and by golly, its not as bad as the press is making it out to be!
Now…if these kids had shot themselves with a Glock stuffed into their mouths, would the school be saying *But our suicide rates are right in line with the National Average!* Let me answer that with two words…
FUCK. NO.
No…if it were ZOMG GUNS! that were the tools used to off ones self, we would be hearing about how we need more gun control, more gun laws, more law-abiding citizens stripped of their 2nd Amendment RIGHTS (Its a RIGHT, not a privilege…) because we owe it TO THE CHILDREN to keep them safe from harm (even if the harm is self-inflicted).
Well…I have a suggestion for Cornell. I’m officially calling for laws to control gorges and the bridges built over them! If we can’t rid our schools of these VERY DANGEROUS BRIDGES then we should call in the Army Corps of Engineers with about 2,000 cements trucks, and fill the gorges with cement so as to make any jump from a bridge an effort in futility. The most that a kid would do to himself then is maybe break an arm or leg.
While we’re at it, we’ll also need to ban knives, because once these kids realize that the bridges are useless, they’ll turn to other methods to kill themselves.
Oh, and rope too…we don’t need no hangin’s…

A new addition to the BlogRoll
Saw this link over on MArooned, and thought I would take a peek….
Oh my! A Liberal blogger who’s friends think she has gone all Conservative on them because she’s a gunnie?
But it gets better…
She’s a Sci-Fi fan, and an RPG Tabletop fan as well! (For the uninformed, RPG is Role Playng Games, the grandaddy of which was that EVIL Dungeons and Dragons that was going to make us all into Satanic, blood-drinking, chicken-sacrificing devil worshippers.)
So my question for Laura is…which games, in which genre?
Yeah, I like the things too…at a RPG convention a few years back in New Jersey, I picked up a cool, hysterically funny RPG that is great at parties (especially in front of panty-soiling Brady Bunchers) called Cash-n-Guns. Google it up. Hysterical funny and great at parties!
There’s also a tabletop RPG (based on the D-20 system) called Mafia, which comes out of a small press in Southern New Jersey.
Then there are the classics like TSR’s D&D, White Wolf Studios Vampire, Mage, and Werewolf, and GURPS by SJG out of Austin Tx.
Damn….now I wanna be lazy, call up some friends, and just spend the week-end doing tabletop….
