I'm so sorry for your loss. I've never had the privilege of bonding with a parrot, so I can't say that I completely understand. But some of my best friends have been my cats and, when I was a child, my dogs.

Having to decide what to do when there are no ways to relieve a beloved animal's suffering is one of the worst things in the world, to me at least. I don't, though, believe that we're betraying trust when we have to make that call. Instead, I'm convinced that we're doing the right thing because there are no other, humane options left.

My cats and dogs have been loyal to me so, when I have to make that decision for them, I pray and hope that my loyalty to them shows. If we do, in fact, see each other again on the other side, I'm sure that they'll find a way to let us know that they understand.

Oh, and by the way: the "let's doctor this photo in order to distort reality to better fit our own ideas" crap starts early - like, way back in j-school. I had to 'shop trifling crap in order to appease student editors because the bias was already there; they wanted their little friends' homecoming-queen pics to be PERFECT. So there I was, the only one in the entire department actually capable of editing a danged photo, removing that unsightly underarm flab from the pictures.

Felt like crap for doing it...and I got out of journalism after a total of two years suffering through the ridiculousness of it all...but I did learn a few things. "Don't trust the media" is first and foremost.

I'm looking forward to November because I'm confident that enough Americans have awakened to make a difference. Throw out all of the bums, elect some actual conservatives who aren't bent on destroying this country and the Founding Fathers' kick-ass ideas, and make Obama a total, lame duck for the rest of his worthless Presidency.

May the next Thanksgiving be the best in modern history, with the most reasons to be thankful and a very-sad Obama sitting in our White House.

Aisha was somewhere between 8-10 years old at the time of her marriage to the pedophile prophet, depending on which source one consults. Regardless, she was a child even by that age's standards (menstruation meant maturity, or so goes my understanding).

Ol' Mo' was a crappy excuse for a human being and I would rather be skullf***ed by a syphilitic hippie than become a Muslim (by choice or force). I'll be keeping my right to an opinion, my Taurus Mil Pro, and my freedom to wear something that doesn't suffocate me or kill my peripheral vision.

How about we just dress Woody Allen up like a chick - it wouldn't be hard, because, really, look at him - and send him off to play with Roman Polanski for a few decades?

Then again, that violates my own policy of encouraging a swift death penalty for pedophiles.

The modern-day feminists are more misogynistic than pro women anyway. Think about it: the loudest-shrieking feminists put down women like my mom because they chose to stay at home and bring up their families instead of juggling a career and the kids. They have this bizarre obsession with abortion, even to the point of becoming frothy mouthed when somebody points out that a woman who has an abortion is changed, and not for the better, for life - they don't want to acknowledge that actions have consequences, in other words.

Then there's that ridiculous idea that we females are disabled simply for being women and, therefore, require special treatment in order to succeed in twenty-first-century America. Bull. Crap. By saying that I "need" special help, people are really telling me that I'm inferior by nature. Pfft. Whatever.

Yep - I want to visit states where people with well-loved and often-used handguns carry them in public, openly or concealed. If Texas ever actually gets open carry, it's going to be one of our finest days, or so I believe.
